Terms of Service
GetMoji is a free reference operated by ShickShack. These terms cover what you may do with the site, what we promise, and what we do not. In short: take the characters and use them however you like, and understand that a free tool comes with no warranty.
Accepting these terms
By using getmoji.app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. We may revise them; the date at the top shows when they last changed, and material changes will be noted on the page rather than made quietly.
Using the emoji and symbols
The characters are not ours and we claim no rights over them. Emoji and Unicode symbols are part of the Unicode Standard, published by the Unicode Consortium. Copy them, paste them, and use them for anything you like — personal or commercial, no attribution required. That is the entire point of the site.
What we do ask, in relation to the site itself:
- Do not scrape the site at a volume that degrades it for other people.
- Do not republish our written descriptions, curated sets or article text wholesale as your own. Quoting with a link is welcome.
- Do not present the site, or a copy of it, as your own product.
Platform renderings shown on the site are the property of their respective vendors — Apple, Google, Samsung, Microsoft, X and others. They are displayed for comparison and identification, and we do not grant rights to them.
The embeddable widget
The emoji picker widget is free to embed on any website, including commercial ones. No account, no key, no fee. Keeping the credit line that ships with the embed code is appreciated but is not a condition of use.
The widget is provided as a hosted service and may change or be discontinued. Please embed it using the published iframe URL rather than copying our assets onto your own server, so that fixes reach you.
The AI text generator
The emoji text generator sends what you type to Google's Gemini API for processing. Do not enter personal, confidential or sensitive information. See the privacy policy for what happens to that text.
Output is generated automatically. It may be wrong, odd or unsuitable for your purpose, and you are responsible for reviewing anything you publish from it. Do not use the generator to produce unlawful or abusive content. We may rate-limit or withdraw the feature to keep it available and affordable.
Availability
The site is free and provided as-is. We make no promise that it will be available, uninterrupted, or free of errors, and we may change or remove any part of it without notice. Content may contain mistakes; the Unicode Standard itself is the authority on any character.
No warranty
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GetMoji is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ShickShack shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the site.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or the limitation of certain damages, so parts of the two clauses above may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Links to other sites
The site links to third-party sites we do not control, including app listings and vendor documentation. We are not responsible for their content and a link is not an endorsement. Advertising is served by Google; the privacy policy sets out what that involves.
